In this newsletter, I’m excited to share with you some of Salad’s achievements in the last few months. Our periodic updates are milestone-driven, not calendar-driven so we can deliver real updates to our readers and investors.
Salad is an ecosystem builder in the X2E space. This means that we build products and form partnerships with projects, that uses the blockchain to unlock new earning opportunities for everyone in the world.
We started with P2E in 2021, by forming a guild and building GuildOS. Salad Academy was also focused on helping P2E scholars onboard to games, and maximise their earnings.
When I started Salad with Wesley, I was drawn to the idea of how we can potentially revolutionise “work” through the blockchain. I recognised that COVID will change the way we work forever. Here’s a sketch I drew in January 2020 when the pandemic first hit Singapore:
Simply put, COVID has forced organisations around the world to relook at their systems and processes and are now able to hire remotely from anywhere in the world.
This subsequently opens up the opportunity for skilled works from anywhere in the world to get a job, and to contribute to the workforce. COVID is the Great Equalizer of work.
In our first fund raising deck, we identified blockchain games as an opportunity for workers from developing nations to change their lives for the better.
Fast-forward to 2022… blockchain has enabled more ways of earning an income without actually going to an office. Projects such as StepN, Helium, Hivemapper and PlanetWatch are creating new income opportunities for people all around the world, and are helping to define “Work 3.0”.
To that end, Salad is also evolving to expand beyond just gaming guilds. And I’m really excited to be sharing the updates with you in this newsletter.
GuildOS
TLDR; We’ve launched alpha version in July. Currently have 12 guilds testing with over 1,000 scholar wallets. Thetan Arena and Cyball integration will be announced in a few weeks.
GuildOS is a web-based solution that allows anyone to start, manage and scale a guild. We launched the core version of GuildOS in July, and this version allows guilds to manage their Axie Infinity scholars.
During this alpha testing period, GuildOS is currently being used to manage over 1,000 scholar wallets from these partner guilds:

The features that our alpha testers find most useful is the ability to automatically claim SLPs from their scholar wallets, AND also being able to generate payslips accurately for every scholar. The payroll module in GuildOS also lets guilds pay all their scholars from a single page.
Short-Medium Roadmap:

Integration with more P2E/X2E projects that are live
Onboarding more guilds (various sizes) to give us more feedback on features
Medium-Long Roadmap:
Offer non-custodial version of GuildOS through an integration with Fireblocks or similar solution

Integration with DEXes so that guilds or scholars can swap their game utility tokens directly on GuildOS without using a separate wallet
GuildOS:Pro - Guild management tool for professional e-sports teams (Web 2/3), including features such as fund raising, sponsorship management, etc. through NFTs or tokenisation
Revenue Models:
Like an exchange, the business strategy behind GuildOS is volume-driven. Our team is focused on building features that support the creation, management or scaling of all types of guilds.
We plan to charge transaction fees for payroll on GuildOS:Core, and funds/sponsorship raised on GuildOS:Pro.
Some advanced features such as game data analytics will be gated behind a monthly subscription fee - these features are not required for guilds to operate on GuildOS, but will give them an edge in their ventures.
All fees will be charged in $SALD tokens when it is launched. We will also offer fiat options, but that will be used to buy-back and burn an equivalent amount of $SALD tokens.

Operating a guild (Web3 or Web2) without GuildOS is like trying to write a book without a word processor. You can do it, but why would you?
Apollo Academy
TLDR; We’ve renamed Salad Academy to Apollo Academy. Over 50,000 students have signed up since November 2021. Over 100,000 certificates (Soulbound Tokens) have been issued to these students. Quality of content has expanded from GameFi to address broader Web3 audiences.
We established Salad Academy initially to train P2E scholars. We wanted to teach them how to get started with blockchain games and how to maximise their earnings by playing more efficiently.
With the P2E industry evolving to X2E, our team wanted to make the academy more inclusive and holistic. Education is our solution to mass adoption.
Our Mission at Apollo Academy is to onboard the next million crypto users to Web 3.0, through education. At Apollo Academy, we seek to create an inclusive space to give different types of learners the tools they need to kickstart their Web3 journey.
The platform offers a variety of mediums for students to pick from depending on their learning styles. We invite established KOLs and projects from around the world to share their knowledge and insights on the space, connecting them with millions of enthusiasts and students.
When we started the Academy, we used to create and produce all the training videos ourselves. With this new version of the Academy, we have opened up content creation to our A2 Alpha Partners whom we then co-create new content with.
Our content is also being distributed across different platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok in order to reach the masses.
Short-Medium Roadmap:
Co-create more content with our A2 Alpha Partners.
Marketing campaign to attract more students to the Academy through partnerships, advertisements and collaborations.
Closer integration with Project Galaxy to automatically issue Soulbound Tokens when students complete specific courses.
Medium-Long Roadmap:
Enable self-registration for A2 Alpha Partners, so they are able to create high quality content with little-to-no intervention from our core team.
Collaborate with educational institutions around the world (Universities, Polytechnics) to co-create higher quality content that comes with an endorsement from the institutions.
Revenue Models:
Access to the entire Academy is currently free of charge. Our team has plans to implement an NFT gate that will act as a pass to access the Academy once we reach critical mass.
From time to time, projects may want to promote themselves to our students since this is a highly-curated list of crypto-natives/curious. We will charge these projects a fee to feature them on the Academy.

Club Salad
TLDR; “Salad Tuesdays” is now the default Web3 event in Singapore that the community looks forward to attending every fortnight. We’ve run 2 events in Vietnam, and plan to organise one in the Philippines in October. This is our grassroots event for us to understand what’s happening on the ground in Southeast Asia. We’ve organised GameFi Asia ‘22 in July, and will be organising “After Hours”, a pre-event party for Token2049 in Singapore.
Named by Alex, who is an advisor to our team, Club Salad is our events and community platform. In order for us to understand the needs of our users, customers, and potential token holders, we believe that it is important for us to meet face-to-face every once in awhile with grassroots leaders.
The purpose of organising these grassroots meetups is to ensure that we always keep our ears to the ground, so that we can continue building relevant products. As the organiser of these events, Salad’s brand has benefitted especially in Singapore in a short amount of time.
We’ve since organised 12 x “Salad Tuesdays” events in Singapore and Vietnam, and will soon expand this franchise to the Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia.
Each ST event typically sees about 100 attendees, and our team curates the attendee list in order to let everyone experience Salad Tuesdays at least once. As the community grows, our team has started organising larger events over the months.
In July, we also organised GameFi Asia, which is the first GameFi and NFT focused conference in Singapore. Over 2,000 people attended the event in person and virtually, and we had the opportunity to present our partners to everybody who joined the event.
Short-Medium Roadmap:
Organise more Salad Tuesdays around Southeast Asia
Appoint local curators to manage these events outside of Singapore
Plan for the largest X2E conference in Asia (imagine Permissionless, but X2E-focused, in Asia)
Medium-Long Roadmap:
Organise the largest X2E conference in Asia in 2023
Collaborate with other Web3 community events around Asia
Revenue Models:
Our team is preparing to launch Club Salad NFT passes. These passes will give hodlers access to future community events organised by Salad. Hodlers will also get additional perks when they attend our events. A limited collection of Genesis passes will be released this week at 0.25 ETH.
Future NFT releases will follow later on, with different perks attached to these NFT passes.

In closing, Salad has never aimed to be the “biggest” anything, rather, we focus on value propositions to our users and community in the X2E space. This lets us build stronger and more meaningful relationships, which will be the foundation of the Salad Ecosystem.
